Charlotte Cory is a London based artist who is best known for her VISITORIANA - a fantastical, "wholly believable" post-Darwinian universe of reworked, recycled, collaged and montaged Victorian photography and taxidermy, an alternative 19th Century in which the animals are clearly in charge. Her work is in the Royal Collection at Windsor, and has been shown at Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition on a number of occasions. There are also 4 books published about her work as an artist.

Charlotte Cory's 'Telling Tales' exhibition in December 2020 was composed of a brand new set of smaller works each of which was accompanied with a story. Identically framed these elegant little Visitorians gave us a brief tale as to why they were present in the show. From Hattie, Hettie and Nettie's, girl's nght out, to Lionel de Bassenthwaite-Bassenthwaite's family ties with William the Conquerer, it was all ecorded in a witty and entertaining way. There is a book 'Telling Tales' which accompanies the show and tells the tale of each work. During this exhibition the artist also launched a novel: 'The lemon Painters', which is a collection of sly, witty, and unsettling stories, here Charlotte Cory shows her skill at creating lives in a few vivid strokes, as well as her unrivalled eye for the manias and delusions that bubble away under even the most apparently comfortable of façades.

Charlotte Cory's exhibition ‘Capturing the Brontes’, showed simultaneously in the autumn of 2013 at the Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth (where it proved highly controversial) and at the Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate (where the local press described her alternative Brontë museum as "utterly brilliant") it later moved to London in February 2014. At the opening of the London show, a delicious gin based cocktail was served. This was entitled "Branwell Brontë's Ruin" - and mixed two cult gins by Colonel Fox, both of which display Charlotte Cory's artwork on their labels.

Cory has also produced a range of silk scarves, bone china, prints, other merchandise, and Christmas cards exclusively for The Sir John Soane Musuem, she also has had her work transformed into wallpaper and textiles for furnishings.
