AYODEJI KINGSLEY
Born in Nigeria
Ayodeji Kingsley is a leader in found metal sculpture assemblage. We first encountered his works during the 2024 Graduate Art Show: his unique perspective on the use of scrap metal creates powerful social commentaries on the relationship between animals and materiall values. Through a fluent mastery of welding and assemblage, corroded metal and found objects take the silhouette of domestic animals and wildlife, transforming static rubbish into orrnament.
“My practice involves transforming discarded metal materials, aiming to highlight the environmental repurcussions of unsustainable consumption and engage with the critical relationship between human activity and the natural world.” AYODEJI KINGSELY
