JACK TANNER: STRUCTURED FORMS

STRUCTURED FORMS consists of 9 highly structured and carefully rendered artworks composed using individually handmade wooden blocks. Taking inspiration from the characteristics present within Tanner’s screw artworks, the mathematically informed discoveries add a new dimension with the addition of the shifting colours. Enforcing an active response from the viewer, as you move across the relief artworks you are able to visualise the shift in colour and form.
Each of the four ‘Seasonal Shift’ artworks consists of over 1,500 individually hand cut, sanded and painted wooden elements. Taking thousands of hours to produce, due to the time consuming complex nature of each stage of the creative process Tanner has decided that these will be the only pieces made available in this style.
