TP HARDISTY
TP Hardisty is a contemporary British artist who, through his creative practice, offers a new perspective on everyday objects. He uses these objects as his 'paint'.
Whilst there is a simplicity to the work, there is also a high amount of precision and care taken by the artist. It could be said that the subtle positioning and repetition of each element within a piece is almost too quiet to the naked eye, yet overall this sense of organisation gives the work its unquestionable clarity and charm, which, along with its humour, is part of its attraction.
The 'Robber Duck' pieces are a perfect illustration of TP Hardisty's humorous approach. These cartoon-like bandits bring a playful sense of joy, they are fun and lighthearted works which have a broad appeal that extends across family generations. In the 'Conversations' series (the slightly smaller works shown below) Hardisty has again used his preferred medium of rubber ducks, with each separate artwork illustrating a comical interaction or notion.
Beautifully presented, in elegant, black wooden frames (with museum quality glass), these uplifting artworks are engaging, and somewhat tongue-in-cheek.
