A new collection of works by Graeme Purdy where he tracks the migration of Monarch Butterflies in the highlands of Mexico, coming soon to Woolff Gallery! Departing from his signature black and white close-ups, these butterflies flock together in the winter months before flying to Canada and the Northern States of the US in Spring.
"Their 2500 mile annual migration is incredible in many ways, not least because it takes 3-5 generations of butterfly to complete the annual cycle. How they return to the very same trees that they inhabited many generations before is just one aspect of what is surely the greatest migration on earth."
