ONYX
ONYX
Onyx
Bionics Bull
Chrome-plated found objects in perspex case
53 x 36 x 31cm
£4,250
Onyx is the creative mastermind of Jim, previously a builder from East London whose survival of a near-death experience led him to become Onyx: the mixed media artist creating incredibly unique and dystopian assemblages as a means of processing his experience. He evokes a memory of a 'future past' with miniature toys, found objects and discarded paraphenalia which blur the boundaries between what is mechanically familiar, and what is not.

Based in the Isle of Wight, his career spans over 30 years, showcasing an entirely unique and dedicated engagement with paint.
